We are not all the same

My journal subject might be stating the obvious but most companies that were trying to sell you something didn't actually realize it until last few decades. It took spaghetti sauce to figure out that people have different tastes and are actually very poor at expressing those to companies. And most companies were under the impression that they needed to make best single product that satisfied everybody, not realizing that there was no such beast.

So enjoy this video by Malcolm Gladwell explaining how spaghetti sauce changed the variety of products available to us. (Don't mind the scary massive hair :)

I am very glad that I can choose to buy a dozen different varieties of bread or interesting flavors of ice cream that weren't available before. Now if they would just bring back the Edwards Lemon Meringue pies they discontinued.
